Organisation of Rural Associations for Progress (ORAP) Developing Local Capacity for the Establishment of Rural Libraries Bulawayo , Zimbabwe **This project will be funded by the Rhodes Ball 2007** ORAP mobilises people to take charge of their own development processes through culturally based methods, working with people to create structures that bring about a holistic transformation in their lives - economically, environmentally, socially and culturally. ORAP's Zimele Institute focuses on the educational potential of young people in rural parts of western Zimbabwe. This project will work with 50 rural schools, primary and secondary, in three provinces in Zimbabwe, developing their capacities to establish, manage and maintain functional libraries and thereby improve learning opportunities for students and their communities. |
