The Rhodes Scholarships for Zambia

Welcome to the information pages about the Rhodes Scholarships for Zambia. 

Each year, there are two Scholarships available in Zambia to enable outstanding students - chosen on the basis of exceptional intellect, character, leadership, and commitment to service - to study at the University of Oxford.

Applications for the Rhodes Scholarship for 2013 will open in mid-2012. Applications for 2012 have now closed, and the Rhodes class of 2012 has been elected.Also available are biographies of the Rhodes class of 2011 and video interviews with diverse Rhodes alumni.

Over many decades, Rhodes Scholars from Zambia have pursued a variety of careers in public service, academia, business, law and medicine, amongst others. Most recently, for example, Elias Chipimo Jr, a Rhodes Scholar from 1990 who was a candidate for President of Zambia in 2011, returned to Rhodes House to speak with current Rhodes Scholars about his vision for Africa's future.

2. the selection criteria that apply in all Rhodes constituencies, and then
3. the application criteria and procedures specific to Zambia.
